Reiki for our animal friends

The Benefits of Reiki on Animals

Since Reiki is non-invasive, gentle, and painless for animals it heals all aspects of an animal's being: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual.  It can help to maintain health on all these levels by easing physical illnesses, healing injuries, and working on problems on emotional & spiritual levels - especially following abuse, neglect, trauma, fear, and trust issues.

Reiki also can also induce deep relaxation for nervous or high-strung animals, accelerate healing after surgery, and complement alternative therapies by enhancing them.

Also, for dying animals, Reiki can make the transition more peaceful for all concerned and provide compassionate support.

Reiki can be given at any distance and adapted to each individual animal.

Some people find that after their pets have had Reiki done to them that the pets provide even more healing comfort (such as lying on a pained area or curling up against a sore area).

Rates

45 minutes: $40.00
(recommended for more than one pet in the household)

30 minutes: $30.00
(typical treatment)

15 minutes: $20.00

An additional travel fee may apply if there is a driving distance of 10 miles or more, or if there is bad weather (such as heavy snow).

I prefer to work on an animal in their home setting, especially for the first time because that is where they are most comfortable.  However, if your animal can receive a treatment in a public setting such as a dog in the park or a horse in their riding barn - then I will make an exception.  I will not travel to anyone's home unless I have met them, worked on them with reiki, or have at least had a close client vouch for them.

With animals they decide their own times for a treatment.  If it ends before the agreed upon time, then I will change the cost accordingly.  The same applies if an animal decides that they require more reiki than the required time, but I will not charge more without the go ahead of the owner.  If the animal has health issues, expect that a longer treatment is probably needed.

Typical Treatment

After discussing the animal's temperament and health on the phone, an in-person visit is made to a place where the animal feels most comfortable.

On a first visit I will have the client's owner fill out a Client Information Form and on subsequent visits we will briefly discuss the animal's health since the most recent treatment.

After the form is filled out for my records I will talk with the owner and then meet the animal, allowing he or she to get used to my energy.  Animals have a higher sensitivity to energy than most humans and often will feel the energy immediately.  They may startle, stare, stop, investigate, or look very closely at me.  How an animal reacts will depend on their previous experience with humans and their temperament.

If they come over to me or allow my touch, I will commence a hands-on treatment.

If they decide to avoid the energy, I will sit, settle, and send the Reiki from a short distance.  I may not talk with you during the treatments because the animal may become distracted, so you may wish to read a book or do some other quiet activity in the room while I am with the animal.  However, if the animal is relaxed enough, quiet conversation is okay or you may even leave the room.

Do make sure that the animals have access to fresh water after the treatment because they may be thirsty afterwards.  After the treatment, you or your animal may experience increased elimination for a brief period.  This is normal and is the body's way of releasing toxins.

Once the animal has decided that they are finished I will discuss any sensations I felt and ask if you felt anything as well while I take notes on a treatment form for my records.

Payment will be made at the end of the treatment.

I accept cash (exact change preferred) and checks made out to Kristi Klier.

If you wish to do so, we can schedule another appointment or you may choose to wait to monitor your animal's condition.  Keep in touch with me about your animals progress and do not hesitate to contact me - I prefer email, but if you leave a telephone message I will return your call.
